GETTING HELP

Email us and tell us what happened

There is no call centre here. Mosaic is run by one person, and your email comes straight to them. To get a useful answer in one round rather than three, include what you can:

  1. The email address on your Mosaic account, if you have one.
  2. Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings › General › About).
  3. What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  4. A screenshot if anything looked wrong on screen. It usually saves a whole exchange.

Never send us your password. We cannot read it, we will never ask for it, and nobody from Mosaic will ever request it.

ACCOUNT AND SUBSCRIPTION

Common tasks, step by step

Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple, so a few of these happen in iPhone Settings rather than inside Mosaic.

Restore a purchase

If you paid but the app still shows the paywall, or you have reinstalled or switched to a new iPhone:

  1. Open Mosaic and go to Settings, or open the paywall screen.
  2. Tap Restore purchases.
  3. Sign in with the same Apple Account you originally paid with.

This re-checks your purchase with Apple and unlocks Pro straight away. If it does not, email us and we will look at it from our side.

Cancel your subscription

Cancelling happens in iPhone Settings. We cannot cancel it for you, and neither can deleting the app.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Mosaic Investing, then Cancel Subscription.

You keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Request a refund

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. We have no ability to issue one.

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
  2. Sign in with your Apple Account.
  3. Find the Mosaic Investing purchase and choose Request a refund.

If something about the app is why you are asking, we would like to hear it - email us either way.

Reset your password

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password.
  2. Enter your account email and submit.
  3. Open the reset email on the same device and tap the link. It opens Mosaic and takes you to a new-password screen.

No email after a few minutes? Check your spam folder, and confirm you used the exact address you signed up with. Reset links expire, so request a fresh one rather than reusing an old email.

Confirm your email address

New accounts need email confirmation before you can sign in. We send the link the moment you sign up.

If it has not arrived, check spam, then try signing up again with the same address to trigger a new one. Tap the link on the device you installed Mosaic on so it can open the app directly.

Delete your account

Email mosaic.investing0@gmail.com from your account's email address with the subject "Delete my account".

We confirm within 7 days and delete within 30. Full detail is in section 11 of the Privacy Policy.

Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your account does not stop Apple billing you - use the steps above.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

What does Mosaic Investing actually do?

Large institutional investors are required to disclose their US equity holdings to the SEC every quarter, on a form called a 13F. Those filings are public, but they are scattered across hundreds of documents and are hard to read.

Mosaic collects them, tracks what a selected group of managers hold and how that changes each quarter, and builds a model portfolio from that data using a fixed, published methodology. You can shape it with filters such as sector, stability and the number of stocks, then see how it would have compared historically against benchmarks like the S&P 500 or a savings account.

It is an educational analytics tool for understanding public filing data. It is not a broker, it does not place trades, and it does not give personal financial advice.

Can I look around without paying?

Yes. Tap Continue as Guest on the first screen. No account, no email, no payment.

Guest mode shows the full shape of the product - the portfolio structure, the quarter-on-quarter changes, the historical comparison chart - with company identities hidden. Mosaic Pro reveals the actual holdings, the reasoning behind each change, and the full set of filters and comparisons.

How current is the data?

It is as current as the SEC allows, and that is a real limitation worth understanding.

13F filings are due 45 days after the end of each quarter. A position a manager held on 31 March may not become public until mid-May. By the time anyone can see a filing, the manager may have already changed the position.

13F filings also cover only US-listed long equity positions. They do not show short positions, cash, bonds, derivatives, foreign holdings or anything about a manager's overall strategy. Mosaic shows you the filed data and is explicit about the delay wherever it appears.

Does Mosaic tell me what to buy?

No, and that is a deliberate design decision rather than a disclaimer.

Mosaic shows a model portfolio produced by a published methodology from public filing data. It is the same output for everyone who chooses the same settings. It does not know your income, assets, debts, goals, tax position or timeframe, so it cannot judge whether anything in it is suitable for you. What you do with the information is your decision, and it is worth talking to a licensed financial adviser before acting on it.

Why did my model portfolio change this quarter?

New 13F filings arrive each quarter. When the managers Mosaic tracks change what they hold, the model rebuilds from the new filings, so positions can appear, disappear or shift in weight.

The Changes tab explains each movement - which underlying signals moved and in which direction. Nothing changes without a filing behind it.

Why do the historical returns look the way they do?

The performance chart is a historical illustration. It reconstructs what the methodology would have selected at each point in the past, using only the filings that were actually public on that date, so no future information leaks into an earlier decision.

It excludes brokerage fees, taxes, bid-ask spreads, liquidity limits and execution differences. Those costs are real and would reduce any actual result. Past performance does not guarantee future returns.

The app is stuck loading or a screen looks wrong.

Try these in order:

  • Check you have a working internet connection - Mosaic needs one to load data.
  • Fully close the app (swipe it away from the app switcher) and reopen it.
  • Make sure Mosaic is updated to the latest version in the App Store.
  • Restart your iPhone.

Still wrong? Email us with a screenshot and roughly when it happened. We can match it to our server logs.

Is my data safe, and what do you collect?

An email address and a subscription status is essentially all we hold. We never collect your income, assets, debts or any other financial circumstances, we never see your card details, and the app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs.

The full detail, including how to request deletion, is in the Privacy Policy.

Is Mosaic available on Android?

Not yet. Mosaic is on iPhone first. Email us if you want to be told when Android arrives.

IMPORTANT

What Mosaic is, and what it is not

We would rather be clear about this than bury it.

  • Educational analytics, not personal financial advice. Mosaic does not consider your income, assets, debts, objectives, tax position or investment horizon, and nothing in it is a recommendation to you personally.
  • Public filing data, with real limits. 13F filings are delayed by up to 45 days and may be amended, incomplete or partly withheld. They may not reflect what a manager holds today.
  • Model portfolios are not trade instructions. They are the output of a published methodology, not a direction to buy, sell or hold anything.
  • Past performance does not guarantee future returns. Historical illustrations exclude taxes, costs, spreads, liquidity constraints and execution differences.
  • Mosaic is not a broker. It cannot place trades, and it never holds or moves your money.

Consider speaking to a licensed financial adviser before making any investment decision.
